Perth WA 2015 -Pre race report

HI to all you V8 Supercar fans around the world.

This weekend is the Perth Super Sprint event 3 of the 2015 V8 Supercars Championship series let’s take a look back at what happened in 2014.

In race 14 Scott McLaughlin started on pole position, alongside him was Craig Lowndes. Conversely Jamie Whincup started that race in 17th spot. The winners in 2014 were Scott McLaughlin, Craig Lowndes and Chaz Mostert. Who will win the Perth Super Sprint in 2015?

Craig has the most race wins at Barbagallo raceway in WA. Can he get his 100th career win this weekend? Can Jamie get his 92nd career win this week?

History of the Barbagallo event in Western Australia. Back in 1999 Craig Lowndes and Mark Skaife dominated races 1, 2 and 3 back then. Will Red Bull Dominate again like they did in Tassie or will someone else step up?

In 1999 Craig Lowndes won all 3 races. The last time triple 8 won the 2 races in Perth was in 2009 when they were driving for Ford. The commentators were Aaron Noonan, Greg Murphy and Mark Skaife.

In 2015 V8 Supercars will introduce a NASCAR style victory lane, so that the winners can park in that lane marked for the winners only.

There are 2 60 kilometre races on Saturday 25 laps, each and Sundays race is 84 laps 200 kilometres. There are 4 practice sessions 2 on Friday 1 on Saturday also 1 on Sunday.

This weekend’s races are 7 8 and 9. The times that the 2 practice sessions start are Western Australian times.

The last time Ford dominated in Perth WA before 2008 was way back in 2001 via the Shell Helix Ford Falcon of Paul Radisch car 18 won all 3 races that year.

Good luck to everybody for this weekend’s races.
